On Sunday 26th February 2025, the Slazenger Paddle Centre in Leeds played host to an extraordinary event that brought the community together in the spirit of sport and generosity. The paddle tournament, organised on behalf of two incredible charities, PhysCap and the Robert Davidson Foundation, raised over £20,000, proving once again the power of teamwork both on and off the court.
With over 144 players competing, the event made history as the largest UK female paddle tournament to date. The women’s section, in particular, set a remarkable milestone, showcasing the growing popularity of paddle sports among women in the UK. The atmosphere was electric, with competitors of all skill levels uniting for a common cause: supporting two life-changing charities.
Elmhurst Windows was proud to be part of this landmark event, with Managing Director Richard Abrahams not only participating but also contributing to the day’s success. Speaking about the company’s involvement, Richard said: “We were delighted to sponsor the goody bags that were given out to all the players and to be able to contribute to these two incredible charities. It’s amazing to see the community come together for such a worthwhile cause.”
The day saw some outstanding performances, with the men’s tournament being won by none other than Gary Beadle, famously known from Geordie Shore. His victory added an extra touch of excitement to an already thrilling event.
This fantastic outcome wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the organisers, participants, and sponsors. Elmhurst Windows is honoured to have played a role in this record-breaking tournament and is inspired by the generosity shown by everyone involved.
Here’s to many more successful events that bring people together, break records, and, most importantly, make a real difference in the lives of those in need. Elmhurst Windows is committed to supporting our community and looks forward to continuing this tradition of giving back.
