Bay Windows
A Great Way to Bring Light into your Home
A bow or bay window utilises either a standard casement or flush sash window to form a collection of windows set together at an angle. By choosing different styles, colours and glazing designs, your bay or bow windows can be truly personalised for your home.
Why Choose Bay Windows?
Bay windows allow you to enjoy panoramic views of your outside space and a perfect place to relax. Bay windows can add the feeling of space to a room and offer more light due to the extra panes but are also a beautiful feature by adding charming character to your home.
Are bay windows energy efficient?
Elmhurst bay windows are made to measure so they fit perfectly to reduce heat loss. The windows are A rated as standard with the space between the double glazing filled with Argon gas and the spacers coated with a low conduction material to hold more of the heat in. Our weather resistant seals which create a tight fit keep draughts out helping to keep your home warmer in winter.
What is the difference between a bay and a bow window?
A bow window is a unit planted onto the wall and therefore the projection created cannot be stood in, whereas a bay window adds a projection to the wall which can be stood in from the inside..
How secure is a bay window?
As the beading system is internally glazed, you can rest assured that the glass is prevented from being removed from the outside. Together with high security shoot bolt locking and key operated locking handles, Elmhurst bay windows are safe and secure and exceed the level of security demanded by British Standards.
Can each bay segment have equal glass sizes?
Yes. Additional “dummy sashes” create equal sight-lines enhancing the appearance of your homes.
